Vibrating Wire Spot Weldable Strain Gauge
Model : GV-2411
A VW (Vibrating Wire) Spot Weldable Strain Gauge is a specialized type of vibrating wire strain gauge designed to be directly welded onto metal surfaces, such as steel structures, to measure strain. It is commonly used in structural and civil engineering applications where strain needs to be monitored on exposed metal components.
How It Works :
The gauge consists of a tensioned vibrating wire housed between two end blocks or tabs.
These end tabs are designed to be spot welded directly onto a metal surface (e.g., steel beams, pipes, or plates).
When the metal surface experiences strain, it causes a slight change in the distance between the welded tabs.
This changes the tension in the vibrating wire, which in turn alters its natural frequency.
The frequency is measured using an electromagnetic coil, and the data is converted into strain readings.
