Flavoring agent, flavor enhancer. In the food industry, succinic acid is used as an acidulant in wine, animal feed, and confectionery. It is also used as a improver, flavoring agent, and antibacterial agent in the food industry. In the pharmaceutical industry, it is used to produce sulfonamides, vitamin A, vitamin B, antispasmodics, expectorants, diuretics, and hemostatic drugs. As a chemical reagent, it is used as a standard reagent in alkaline titration, a buffer, and a comparative sample in gas chromatography. It can also be used as a raw material for lubricants and surfactants. In the electroplating industry, it prevents metal corrosion and pitting. It is also used as a surfactant, detergent additive, and foaming agent.
