Marine Wet Exhaust Systems
Water is injected into the exhaust system to cool the gases before they pass through the outlet. The injected water reduces the exhaust gas temperature from as high as 2000ºF to less than 250°F. This cools the gases enough to allow the use of flexible silicone hoses. Water-cooled exhaust is not a fire hazard and does not require insulation.
