Cast Iron Flanged Y Strainer
Y-strainers are devices that mechanically remove unwanted solids from liquid, gas or steam pipelines by means of perforated or metal mesh filter elements. They are used in pipelines to protect pumps, instruments, control valves, steam traps, regulators and other process equipment.     
 
The cast iron Y-straine               r PN16 is a very economical filtration solution in many applications. Where the relatively small amount of material to be removed from the water stream results in long intervals between strainer cleaning, the strainer is cleaned manually by closing the pipework and removing the strainer cover.     
 
For applications with heavy dirt loads, the Y-strainer can be fitted with a "blow" connection allowing the screen to be cleaned without removing it from the filter body.     
 
The cast iron Y-strainer               PN16 is used in a wide variety of liquid filtration applications to protect downstream process system components in many industries including chemical processing, petroleum, power generation and marine. Water treatment applications are very common where Y-strainers are used to protect equipment that may be damaged or clogged by unwanted sand, gravel or other debris.
